SPUP’s Jester M. Magbanua, (BS Hospitality and Tourism Management – IV), was recognized as one of the Ten Outstanding Hospitality Students of the Philippines (TOHSP). He was the only recipient of the award from the Cagayan Valley Region (Region 2). Organized by the Junior Tourism and Hospitality Management Association of the Philippines (JTHMAP), the premier tourism and hospitality organization in the country, the winners were announced on September 25, 2021.

As part of JTHMAP’s anniversary celebration, the TOHSP was launched together with the Search for Ten Outstanding Tourism Students of the Philippines (TOTSP), and the Search for Ten Tourism and Hospitality Student Organizations of the Philippines (TOHSOP). Accordingly, the nationwide search aimed to recognize students and organizations exemplifying academic excellence, transformative leadership, and outstanding community services.

Mr. Magbanua underwent the rigorous process of the search from portfolio submission, short video documentary, and online panel interview. He was recognized as he exhibited outstanding leadership skills inside and outside the campus, very good scholastic performance, and an epitome of a role model student.
