St. Paul University Philippines co-hosted the 8th International Conference on Health Sciences organized by the Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta on September 23-24, 2021. Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC, University President, delivered an Opening Speech in the conference posting the challenge on health workers as well as on faculty and students in the health and life sciences to constantly embrace their roles as a mission and for the citizens to be mindful of their responsibilities in promoting a healthy environment for everyone.

Bearing the theme, “Healthy City: Answer for the Future Pandemic?” the topics were focused more on livability of cities as well as women and children’s health, gender equality and Caring in Nursing where SPUP Nursing faculty members Dr. Ma. Elizabeth Baua, Ms. Fatima Sheryl Agcaoili and Mr. Allan Paulo Blaquera were research presenters.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ma. Elizabeth Baua, Mrs. Miriam Pattugalan, Mrs. Catherine Verzosa and Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales were session moderators. The conference was also attended by select faculty and students of the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences of SPUP among more than 600 participants. Poltekkes Kemenkes Yogyakarta is a partner institution of SPUP.
