With the theme, “Celebrating Life and Blessings” SPUP’s Paskuhan 2018 had its grand launching as the campus was lit in its annual Festival of Lights on December 05, 2018. SPUP’s year-long celebration for the Year of the Youth was also inaugurated.
Fr. Carlos Evangelista (University Chaplain) presided the Liturgy of Light. Through the liturgy, the SPUP family was led to a reflection on the Christian symbolism and spiritual meaning of light and Christmas tree – the allusion to Christ as the light of the world and His ultimate sacrifice in the tree of the cross.
Moreover, as Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) switched on the light of the Nativity Scene, the SPUP community was reminded of the true meaning of Christmas – the love of God incarnated through His Son.
After the rite of blessing, the lights were lit amidst cheers and applause.
