SPUP-Basic Education Unit emerged victorious in the 6th Robothon Competition on October 27, 2018. With the theme: “Bringing Education to the Next Level of Education,” the said national contest was held at the Trinity University Asia-Quezon City and was participated in by 43 schools in the Philippines.

In the VEX IQ NEXT LEVEL Team-Work Category, Joseff Kyle Balubal, Abiegail Rose Dela Rose and Jahnrodz Julliet Fermin won the FIRST PLACE in the Grade School level.

In the Middle level competition, Christian Del Rosario, Mandy Escobar and Cyril Jeanne Andrei Mellebo bagged the FIRST PLACE; while, Vincent Tryine Raul Combate, Niño Justin Marcos and Elijah Joseph Pobre were presented the EXCELLENCE AWARD.

In the High Category, Lorenzo Combate, JL Jasper Rigor and Ma. Cassandra Somera won the DISTINCTION AWARD for both Programming Skills and Team-Work Category. On the other hand, Kristian Renzo De Asis, Kin Furigay and Jayvee Charles Pascual also clinched the EXCELLENCE AWARD for Programming Skills and Team-Work Category respectively. Lastly, both the DISTINCTION and EXCELLENCE AWARDS were secured by the group of Andrei Anthony Amarles, Fernando Calabazaron IV and Enzo Paul Castro.

The BEU students were accompanied by their coaches: Mr. Vinz Marumi, Mr. Romel Azul Peralta and Ms. Legeierose Morales.
