In consideration with the objective of the program, the students were exposed to different hospitals, community and the College of Nursing in the Faculty of Medicine at Diponegoro University. The immersion and exposure of the students to the different areas were facilitated by Dr. Suhartini Ismail, their practicum preceptor.
The students were exposed to nursing education and practice – in the community and hospital. The areas and institutions where they were exposed were handpicked to provide them the maximum experience that one can have for the nursing practice. The students were exposed at PudakPayong Puskesmas, the village of Banyurojo,Ketep, RSUD Tugurejo, and RSJD Dr. Amino Gondohumoto (Mental Hospital) And the inputs were facilitated by the faculty of UNDIP.
The students had an opportunity to observe the forgiving practice after the Ramadan at the University level and the department level. They also had an interaction with the officers of the Indonesian Nurses Association (INNA) particularly the Central Java Province chapter. The practicum fostered experiences for the students to learn from the best practices of the community, Puskesmas, hospitals and the INNA. Likewise, the connections between ASEAN nations and the relevance of the Asian history as courses taught to nurses was strengthened. The learning insights attained were not only for the nursing practice but for the improvement of the health care systems in general. The activity was highlighted by the presentation of the research proposal to the faculty of the College of Nursing and their Graduate School students.
