November 25, 2025 — Officials from the United States Embassy in Manila visited St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) for a strategic discussion aimed at enhancing community relations, outreach programs, and partnerships with educational institutions in the country—particularly in Cagayan. The delegation included Mr. Travis Warner (Political Officer), Mr. Jovic Maurice Yee, (Press and Media Coordinator), and Ms. Ma. Jasmine Grace Go (Communications Assistant). Their visit underscored the Embassy’s commitment to building stronger connections with academic institutions outside Metro Manila. The team also expressed interest in understanding SPUP’s initiatives and identifying areas where both institutions can collaborate for greater regional impact.
The officials were welcomed by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, (University President), together with the University Administrators. During the meeting, both parties engaged in a productive dialogue exploring opportunities for collaboration in global education, intercultural understanding, and communication initiatives. They also discussed potential programs that can strengthen information literacy, youth engagement, and community outreach efforts in the region. SPUP administrators highlighted the university’s ongoing advocacy, programs and projects, which align closely with U.S. Embassy priorities on youth development, civic participation, and community empowerment.
SPUP expressed its appreciation for the U.S. Embassy’s continued engagement and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that advance academic excellence, internationalization, and service to communities. The University conveyed its openness to future joint activities, including training programs, workshops, and cultural exchange initiatives that could benefit students and local communities.
