On October 16, 2025, St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) convened the Partnership Meeting of Start Ready Cagayan Consortium. The event gathered key stakeholders dedicated to strengthening disaster resilience and promoting inclusive development in the municipalities of Baggao, Gattaran, and Camalaniugan, Cagayan.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Gilles Nouzies, (Regional Director of Humanity and Inclusion (HI) Southeast Asia Programme) and Ms. Melanie Ruiz, (HI Philippines Country Manager). Representatives from consortium members—Relief International, Philrads, Green Meadow Development Foundation, and SPUP—actively engaged in the discussions. Also present were representatives from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) and the Camalaniugan Handicapables Association (CHA), underscoring the consortium’s commitment to inclusive and community-driven collaboration.
The session reviewed the consortium’s accomplishments since its establishment in July 2023, emphasizing its coordinated response to Typhoon Doksuri (Super Typhoon Egay) and Typhoon Trami (STS Kristine). Supported by Start Ready funding, the consortium has assisted more than 7,600 households in highly vulnerable areas of Cagayan, providing immediate relief and enhancing community capacities for disaster preparedness and recovery.
