
SPUP, TOKUSHIMA UNIVERSITY CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE

As part of the exchange program with Japanese students from Tokushima University, St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), on February 24, 2026, celebrated interculturality and global collaboration through a cultural presentation and recognition rites for the completers of the International Language Learning and Cultural Immersion Program.
In her message, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) commended the Japanese exchange students for their growth in speaking and writing, as well as for the experiences they gained throughout the immersion. The Japanese students expressed their gratitude with speeches that reflected their journey, and with performances that shared their culture through song and dance. In turn, Paulinians showcased the Filipino heritage with folk dance performances from the Basic Education Unit (BEU) and the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS), while the SPUP Ambassadors modeled creative attire inspired by the different natural wonders of the world.
The recognition rites and the overall immersion program were spearheaded by the Internationalization Office, in collaboration with the Student Affairs and Academic Support Services through the Paulinian Student Government, the ICT Office, the Intercultural Institute for Languages, and the different college departments. Its culmination highlights SPUP’s commitment to fostering intercultural exchange and meaningful collaboration, fulfilling its mission to make a difference on a global scale.
