St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) and the Global Peace Foundation Philippines (GPF) collaborated on a community outreach program at Joaquin Dela Cruz Integrated School in Camalaniugan, Cagayan. Held on July 31, 2025, the event aligned with the theme, “KUMIKILOS para sa Kahandaan, Kaligtasan, at Katatagan” (Moving for Preparedness, Safety, and Resilience).
The community outreach program, led by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President), focused on raising awareness and equipping the school community for emergencies. A key activity was a session titled “Teaching Children to Stay Safe in Any Emergency,” which provided crucial knowledge to both students and teachers.
The outreach also included the distribution of vital supplies, such as rain protection, backpacks, and school supplies for students, as well as essential kits for teachers. The initiative saw active participation from the Paulinian community, including SPC Sisters, faculty, and staff. Student leaders from the Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD) and the Paulinian Student Government (PSG) were also involved, assisting with distribution and facilitating sessions on basic emergency preparedness and disaster response.
The event was attended by Honorable Mayor Isidro Cabaddu, (Local Chief Executive, Camalaniugan). This collaborative effort demonstrates the strong commitment of SPUP and its partners to fostering community resilience and supporting the education sector.
