St. Paul University Philippines participated in the 18th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week, held from August 13 to 15, 2025, at the Marison Hotel in Legazpi City, Albay. With the theme “One Health for All: Igniting Transdisciplinary Solutions for a Healthier Philippines,” the conference emphasized collaboration across disciplines to tackle today’s pressing health challenges. SPUP’s involvement showcased the university’s commitment to research excellence and its role as a key partner in national health initiatives.
During the three-day gathering, Dr. Allan Paulo Blaquera earned the People’s Choice Award for his concise, policy-maker-focused 3-minute pitch on home-based stroke rehabilitation, highlighting innovative approaches to community-level care. Ms. Eileen Molina impressed attendees in the Oral Research Presentation (Professional Category) with her study on the Molluscicidal Activity of Euphorbia splendens, underscoring SPUP’s contribution to advancing therapeutic and public health research. Dr. Josephine Lorica also represented SPUP by presenting the CVHRDC poster, reinforcing SPUP’s status as a proud member of the Cagayan Valley Health Research and Development Consortium (CVHRDC).
The event fostered a rich exchange of ideas through informative discussions, competitive events, and productive meetings, underscoring the collective efforts of researchers, educators, and health advocates toward a healthier Philippines. SPUP’s active participation highlighted the university’s ongoing dedication to transdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge dissemination, and impactful health research that benefits communities beyond campus boundaries.
