St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) reaffirmed its commitment to research and community service by actively participating in the two-day virtual PCHRD HeaRTNovation Hub: Building Health Innovation Hubs through Capacity Building and Proposal Development Program on November 24–25, 2025.
The SPUP team presented a key innovation initiative focused on enhancing the quality of life for the geriatric population. This project underscored SPUP’s dedication to addressing the growing needs of older adults through research-driven, community-centered solutions.
The team—led by Dr. Maria Visitacion N. Gumabay (Project Lead, Institutional Innovations) and Dr. Melanie Reboldera, and including Dr. Jesus Pizarro, Mrs. Melody Morales, Ms. Jocelyn Zingapan, and Dr. Cherry Ann Gumabay—actively engaged in workshops on sustainability, roadmap development, and global opportunities. They refined their geriatric project during mentoring sessions with experts like Mr. Richard Day, Dr. Kristine Mae P. Magtubo, and Dr. Luis Sison.
SPUP’s involvement in this national initiative highlights its unwavering dedication to fostering collaborations and strengthening its innovation ecosystem. The University remains steadfast in creating impactful, compassionate, and excellence-driven solutions for the betterment of the populations it serves, particularly its vulnerable senior citizens.
