December 12, 2025 – Isang Milyong Gabay 2: Raising Davids for This Generation functioned as a rigorous, interdisciplinary platform that convened mental health professionals, educators, institutional leaders, and youth advocates to address the increasingly complex psychosocial concerns confronting contemporary learners. The opening plenary formally commenced with registration and welcome rites, followed by an opening program that honored freedom and heritage through the National Anthem, prayer, and candle lighting. Foundational perspectives were articulated by the RESET founders, Dr. Maria Bryce Fabro and Dr. Brenda V. Fortune, who outlined the conceptual grounding and preventive orientation of mental health coaching. The morning keynote, Act 1: Kumusta Ka?, was delivered by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, (President, St. Paul University Philippines) and Project DAVID Mission Partner, emphasizing compassionate leadership, institutional stewardship, and the cultivation of emotionally safe and inclusive learning environments.
The scholarly discourse was further enriched through expert-led presentations grounded in clinical practice and empirical research. Dr. Brenda V. Fortune presented Empowering the Youth Through the David Project, underscoring structured, evidence-based interventions for resilience-building and emotional self-regulation among young people. This was followed by Dr. Paul Lawrence Filomeno, MD, (Pediatrician and Internationally Known Author), who delivered Practical Tools for Real-Life RESET, focusing on digital health, early addiction prevention, and neurodevelopmental protection in an increasingly technology-driven context. These discussions culminated in Act 2: Safe Ba Ako Dito?, a fireside chat moderated by Dr. Maria Bryce Fabro and enriched by the perspectives of panelists Abisha Martinez, Althea Lagahit, Christine Paynor, and Mark Jesus Manzano, with expert reactors Dr. Don Fortune, Dr. Paul Filomeno, and Dr. Brenda V. Fortune. The session critically examined issues of loneliness, boundaries, burnout, cancel culture, and digital addiction, situating these concerns within broader social and developmental frameworks.
The afternoon program translated theory into practice through focused breakout sessions. Vincent Don Fortune, D.S.L., (Certified Trauma-Informed Specialist), facilitated Healing Classrooms: Puso Ko, Hugot Mo, which addressed trauma-responsive pedagogical strategies through the principles of FACEing and LOVEing trauma. In parallel, John Francisco Verceles led Active Listening for Peer Coaches, strengthening peer-support competencies within educational settings. The plenary concluded with Act 3: Need mo ba ng help?, a soul-soothing concert by Souls & Sounds, followed by the awarding and closing ceremonies. Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Claudeth Gamiao, (Head, SPUP Guidance), who synthesized the day’s key insights and reaffirmed a shared commitment to sustaining evidence-based, trauma-informed, and compassionate approaches in nurturing resilient and mentally healthy youth.
