ChildFund Philippines held a comprehensive training on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Orientation, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Standards, and Capacity Assessment for its Luzon partners. Held on March 10 to 14, 2025 at SPUP Global Center, participating organizations inluded REINA Federation of Parents Association (REINA Fed.), the Federation of Associations for Communities and Children’s Empowerment, Inc., Gems Heart Outreach Development (Host), and St. Paul University Philippines Community Development Center Foundation, Inc. (SPUPCDCFI).
The training aimed to equip participants with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools to effectively support and lead child protection initiatives within their partner communities. Mr. Allan Nunez (Child Protection and Advocacy Specialist, ChildFund Philippines) emphasized the importance of integrating GESI principles into program design and implementation to address the needs of marginalized and vulnerable groups. Moreover, Ms. Sheila de Lima (Project Manager, Xavier Science Foundation), reinforced the significance of adhering to PSEA standards, explaining that this knowledge ensures staff are well-prepared to respond to issues of sexual exploitation and abuse while maintaining ethical and professional guidelines.
The training sessions were also attended by Mr. Jorge Sabina (Partnership Portfolio Manager, ChildFund Ph) and Ms. Lorenza Francisc (Partnership Portfolio Officer, ChildFund Ph), who provided additional insights throughout the discussion.
