Twenty-three Hospitality and Tourism Management students from the School of Business and Accountancy joined the 2025 U.S. Summer Work and Travel Program, which ran from June through September 2025. This valuable cultural exchange initiative aimed to boost the global exposure, professional competencies, and intercultural learning of our future industry leaders, aligning with our institution’s internationalization goals.
These students secured placements in diverse tourism and hospitality establishments—including resorts, theme parks, and national parks—across states like South Carolina, Maine, Arizona, and South Dakota. This provided them with hands-on experience in areas such as front office, guest relations, and food and beverage operations, allowing them to directly apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting during their three-month stay.
This initiative stood as a testament to SPUP’s commitment to developing highly competent, globally competitive professionals. By gaining practical experience and immersing themselves in diverse U.S. cultures, our students became fully equipped with the skills and global readiness needed for excellence and service in the worldwide tourism and hospitality industry.
