Ten (10) faculty members of St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) successfully completed their Trainers Methodology Level 1 (TM-1) course under the supervision of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The 15-day extensive and hands-on training involved lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and practicum sessions designed to enhance the participants’ competence in delivering and assessing competency-based training. The TM-1 certification, which culminated in a rigorous assessment process, ensures that educators possess both the theoretical and practical expertise necessary to conduct quality technical-vocational instruction in alignment with TESDA standards.
The culmination activity was graced by Ms. Donita Camacam, (TESDA RO2 Assessor) Dr. Shirley Enriquez, (Head, SPUP Technical and Vocational Education Program) expressed her gratitude for the technical assistance extended by TESDA and for the active participation of the faculty completers throughout the course. Ms. Camacam, meanwhile, commended the participants for their perseverance and commitment to professional growth, emphasizing that the TM-1 certification equips them to serve as competent trainers and advocates for lifelong learning. Both speakers highlighted that SPUP’s alignment with TESDA’s competency-based framework contributes to producing skilled and industry-ready graduates.
The graduation ceremony, held on October 30, 2025, marked the successful completion of the faculty members’ TM-1 journey. University officials expressed their appreciation to TESDA for its continued partnership and support in enhancing faculty development and technical education. The newly certified trainers are expected to lead in mentoring colleagues and students, fostering innovation in teaching methodologies, and advancing SPUP’s mission of excellence and service in education aligned with national and global workforce demands.
