St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) welcomed Paulinian delegates from different SPC institutions in Luzon for the celebration of Paulinian Youth in Worship (PYW), a two-day event of the SPC Congregation which commenced this August 9, 2019.

The day 0, themed as “I am Loved,” started with the grand entrance of the delegates in the University gymnasium, followed by the orientation proper.

During the opening ceremonies, Sr. Merceditas O. Ang, SPC, SPUP President, assured the delegates that they are welcome in the university. Furthermore, she emphasized that the PYW is an opportunity for spiritual reflection and sharing of one’s giftedness.

“This activity is a means for celebrating God’s love, goodness, and fidelity. It is an opportunity to reflect and nurture our talents to be used for God’s glory,” remarked Sister Merceditas.

Proceeding the orientation program was the Lucernarium with Vespers bannering 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 and a Eucharistic celebration in the Our Lady of Chartres Chapel.

As part of welcoming the participants, cultural presentations led by SPUP students entertained them during the dinner.

In celebration of the 115 th year of the SPC Congregation in the Philippines and the Year of the Youth, the first-ever PYW aims to trace the SPC history in the Philippines and to empower Paulinians through praise and worship, commitment to environment, and Paulinian footprints.
