SPUPAA conducts apostolate to BJMP

The St. Paul University Philippines Alumni Association (SPUPAA), in collaboration with the Christian Formation (CF) Office, conducted an outreach activity with the inmates of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Cataggaman and the Cagayan Provincial Jail (CPJ) in Carig, both in Tuguegarao City on October 21, 2014 .

The officers and members of the SPUPAA were joined in by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, University President, SPUP-SPC Sisters, and the CF Faculty Members. The said apostolate that was facilitated by the CF Faculty members enriched the inmates spiritual growth through liturgy. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, University President gave a message to the inmates.

The management of CPJ and BJMP through Mr. Perfecto Santos (Provincial Jail Warden) and Ms. Maria Agatep (Provincial Social Welfare Officer) and Jail Senior Inspector Samuel Carodan (Tuguegarao City District Jail Warden) expressed their gratitude to the SPUP Community for being their partner and collaborator in the spiritual development of the inmates. The inmates through their interaction with the SPUP Team uttered their appreciation to the activities and ministry which SPUP regularly conducts with them. The SPUPAA and SPUP also gave gifts.

SPUP's Prison Apostolate is conducted by the Christian Formation Office, headed by Sr. Mercedes Bacaoco, SPC. Mr. Hollis Sibal, (In-Charge of CF Outreach Services) coordinated the activities to the management team of both correctional facilities. SPUP students, faculty and alumni actively participate in the said engagement activity.
