St. Paul University Philippines ranked 81st in the Global Top 100 Innovative Universities through the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2023. The announcement was made at the conclusion of the Hybrid WURI Conference 2023, held via zoom and face-to-face at Florida Gulf Coast University, in Fort Myers, Florida, USA, from May 16-18, 2023.

WURI evaluates and ranks top universities with real contributions to the society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches on research and educational programs. The inclusion of SPUP in the WURI Rankings 2023 demonstrates the capacity of the University to foster its educational services anchored on innovativeness (content and process), implementability (doability, cost, and benefit) and Impact (scope and intensity). 

On Fourth Industrialization, SPUP earned the 14th rank. The University is commended for its progress in technology education, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, big data, IOT and cloud services programs relevant to its teaching-learning process. SPUP’s entry is its project on Perpetuating Artificial Intelligence and Utilizing Learning Innovations and Breakthroughs through the Optimization of Technology (SPUP PAULIBOT).

SPUP is rank 24 on Ethical Value. This is in recognition of the University’s undertakings in creating real value to society and providing opportunities along social responsibility, ethics, and integrity. SPUP’s program is the Students’ Ethical and Authentic Learning through Ecumenism and Dialogue (SPUP SEAL). It was also featured in the Case and Poster Presentation sessions delivered by Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) on May 16, 2023.

SPUP is awarded the 39th place in Student Mobility and Openness for its program, Integral STudents’ Authentic Mobility Program (SPUP iSTAMP). The University is acknowledged for its efforts towards student exchange, collaborative engagement, and partnership with learning institutions across national and international borders.

In the category on Industry Application, SPUP made it to the 49th place. The University was credited for its effective implementation of its program on Learning Engagement through the Application of Digital Transformation (SPUP LEAD).

The WURI 2023 is organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and sponsored by four global institutions, namely: the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU), the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Taylor Institute (TI) of Franklin University Switzerland (FUS), and The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS).
