SPUP administrators participated in the Global Peace Leadership Conference (GPLC) on December 01-03, 2022. Held at the Marriott-Widus Hotel, Clark, Pampanga, the three-day strategic high level conference aimed at building consensus on response towards pressing regional and international challenges. Spearheaded by Global Peace Foundation Philippines, it fostered a shared vision, principles, aspirations, and an innovative values based approach to improving the economy, education, security, leadership, youth productivity, women empowerment and community development. Anchored on the theme: “Transforming Education for a Fluorishing Civilization,” the activity provided a global platform for sharing best practices while developing collaborative multi-sector partnerships for the promotion of sustainable peace and development.

Resource persons from diverse backgrounds were invited and shared their expertise and wealth of wisdom with participants composed of various educators from different regions in the Philippines and other countries. Delivering her presentation virtually, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) served as a resource speaker on the topic: “The Power of Moral and Innovative Leadership.” Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (Director, Alumni, External Relations, and Advocacies) joined in the panel discussion on: “Strengthening  Education Stakeholders’ Capacity.” He also served as the rapporteur of the conference on  Educators’ Statement: Call to Action. Mrs. Noemi Cabaddu (Director, Community Development Center) participated in focus group discussions on the current situation, challenges, and ways forward of Philippine Educational System.

Participated in by delegates from Korea, Malaysia, Ireland, USA, India and the Philippines, the conference culminated on the presentation of call to action initiatives by representatives of education sector which were crafted during the discussions.
