June 09, 2022, St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) is once again recognized in the annual World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking. SPUP was ranked among the Top Universities in the world as it gained four rankings this 2022. WURI evaluates and ranks top 50 universities with real contributions to the society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches on research and educational programs in each of the six categories: industrial application, entrepreneurial spirit, ethical value, student mobility and openness, crisis management, and fourth industrialization. The ranking is based on the following criteria: Innovativeness (Content and Process), Implementability (Doability, Cost and Benefit), and Impact (Scope and Intensity).

SPUP is awarded the 20th Place on the area of Fourth Industrial Revolution. The honor is accorded to the University because of its progress in technology education, digitalization, artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things, and cloud services programs relevant to its teaching and learning process.  The University’s entry project was “SPUP Immersing in Technology-based education through Relevant, Adaptive, and Noble Strategies towards holistic Formation and Optimum access to SPUP’s Remote learning system and Management (SPUP iTRANSFORM).”

On ETHICAL VALUE, SPUP gained the 33rd place because of its innovative program in creating real value to society and providing opportunities along Social Responsibility, Ethics, and Integrity. The University exhibited its Human Resource program on “SPUP Employees’ Human-centric Engagement Anchored on Resiliency and Thriving (SPUP e-HEART).”

Along the area on CRISIS MANAGEMENT, the University earned the 38th rank.  SPUP is recognized along its sustainable endeavors in meeting the challenges of climate change, COVID-19 pandemic, and other global and local crisis. The University’s program, presented by the Alumni, External Relations and Advocacies Office, was “SPUP Crisis Response and Engagement towards Sustainability and Transformation (SPUP CREST).”

In the category on STUDENT MOBILITY AND OPENNESS, SPUP bagged the 49th place. The award is in recognition of University’s Internationalization program on “SPUP STudents’ Authentic Mobility Project (SPUP STAMP)” which outlined the University’s student exchange and collaborative engagement between schools and across national borders.

The announcement is made during the online conference for WURI Ranking 2022 organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and sponsored by four global institutions, namely: the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU), the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), Taylor Institute (TI) of Franklin University Switzerland (FUS), and The Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS).
