St. Paul University Philippines and Secon Cyber Security Limited formalized their partnership on December 08, 2021. The UK-based company chose SPUP as its partner-university for its internship program for Information Technology students through its Cyber Academy Program. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President, SPUP) and Mr. Chand Robert Gupta (Chief Executive Officer, Secon Cyber) led the virtual signing of the partnership agreement between the two institutions.

Also present in the virtual convergence were: Mr. Janakan Nadarajah (Chief Operating Officer, Secon Cyber), Mr. Andrew Gogarty (Chief Security Evangelist, Secon Cyber), Dr. Agripina Maribbay (Vice President for Academics, SPUP), Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director for International Relations, SPUP), Dr. Marifel Grace Kummer (Dean of School of Information Technology and Engineering, SPUP), Dr. Ma. Visitacion Gumabay (Program Coordinator of IT, SPUP), Ms. Realyn Vasquez (Secon Cyber Security Operations Team Leader) Mr. Ernest Lampa (Secon Cyber Security Operations Team Leader), Ms. April Agapor (Learning and Development Lead, Secon Cyber), and Mr. Mc Allen Reonel Sebastian Cacacho (Senior Security Engineer, Secon Cyber).

Founded in 1999, Secon Cyber is a leading cyber security company that provides a wide range of cyber security services and technologies to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions and governments. Its internship program is aimed to provide opportunities for students with promising potentials, and mentor them in creating digital safe spaces for the future. As part of the first Cohort, SPUP students will engage in a six-month Cadet Internship Program in the company.
