St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) is hailed as the first University in the Philippines to forge partnership with the Universitas Sulawesi Barat (UNSULBAR) in Indonesia. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President, SPUP) and Dr. Insinyur Haji Akhsan Djalaluddin, MS (Rector, UNSULBAR) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on September 02, 2021. The bilateral cooperation included the areas on student academic and cultural exchange, faculty professional development, research collaboration and joint publication.

The virtual undertaking was witnessed by some Officials of the two Universities. From UNSULBAR, the delegates were: Dr. Insinyur Zulfajri Basri Hasanuddin, M.Eng (Vice Rector for Academics), Dr. Muzakkir, MKEs (Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences), Dr. Muhammad Nasir Badu, PhD (Director, International Relations) and Ms. Kurnia Harli (Person-in-Charge, Partnership of the Faculty of Health Sciences). The SPUP participants were Dr. Agripina Maribbay (Vice President for Academics), Dr. Inicia Bansig (Dean, Graduate School), Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, International Relations), Dr. Anunciacion Talosig (Dean, School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences), Dr. Jesus Pizarro (Director, Planning, Research, Innovations and New Technologies), and Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (Director, Alumni, External Relations and Advocacies).
