The International Relations Office launched the Virtual/Online Inter-cultural Engagement (V.O.I.C.E.) on August 5, 2021 through online conferencing attended by some 233 participants coming from various colleges and universities from China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, USA and Vietnam aside from those who watched via Facebook live.

Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC, University President, spearheaded the launch by formally opening the event. In her message, she mentioned the purpose of the VOICE which is to serve as SPUP’s platform for online interactive exchange activities between SPUP and its university partners especially during this pandemic period or even beyond.

To further inspire the participants, Dr. Matin Royeen, a Cross-cultural Educator from the United States of America, Atty. Lily Freida Milla, CESO IV, Director III, Deputy Executive Director and concurrent International Affairs Director of the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines, and H.E. Prof. Dr. (Raymond) See Soon Keong, CEO of Omega Global Education Group (Singapore/Malaysia) shared their insights and stirred the participants’ knowledge, skills and attitudes on topics pertaining to cross-cultural communication, integrated education, and benefits of online learning opportunities and engagements.

Cultural dance and choral presentations from the St. Paul University Philippines’ Alumni Chorale, student choir from Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Panti Rapih, Indonesia, and dancers from Universitas Sari Mulia, Indoensia were virtually showcased as well.

Future activities will be circulated to participants and SPUP’s linkages for the actual cultural engagement sessions.
