In celebration of the Philippine Innovation Month, the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation – North Luzon CSR Council has tapped St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP) to represent Region II in showcasing its innovative programs and projects currently implemented in the University through a Virtual Innovation Campus Tour.

SPUP highlighted its different adaptive and innovative strategies employed in the University to address the current and future challenges in education using the latest technologies. Other participating institutions were the Pangasinan State University (Region 1) and the Ifugao State University (Cordillera Administrative Region). The University of Lyceum-Northwestern University in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, headed by Dr. Luz T. Duque-Hammershaimb (University President) hosted the event on January 12, 2020.

The innovation month culminated through a forum via zoom with the theme, “The Role of Innovation in the New Normal on February 10, 2020. The roster of speakers included: Usec. Mercedita Sombilla (National Economic Development Authority), Mr. Francis Tuscano (Founder, empowerED and Kids Can Innovation Group), Dr. Enrico Paringit (Executive Director, DOST Research and Development), and Prof. Alicia Celestino (Director, UP-NCPAG Center for Local and Regional Governance). They discussed the significance of innovation in the New Normal relevant to economics, education, research, and governance.

SPUP is a partner-institution of the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation along its community services and advocacy programs and the Lyceum-Northwestern University for the conduct of the 2021 Philippine Innovation Month.
