SPUP-School of Information Technology and Engineering’s (SITE) 2020 Cyber Summit advanced the convergence of technological innovation towards sustainable development. The annual regional conference of Information Technology and Engineering students, professionals, practitioners, educators and enthusiasts was held on March 4-6, 2020 and bannered the theme: “Connect and Innovate to Empower the Future Generation on the Trends and Technologies for Sustainable Development.”

The preliminary activities of the convention included the Eucharistic Celebration, acknowledgement of participants, and the presentation of the objectives of the program. The highlights of the primary session were the: welcome remarks of Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, (University President), inspirational message of Engr. Joven Jacinto, (CHED Representative), and keynote speech of Mr. Mars Cacacho (Founder and CEO, HacktheNorth).

Plenary discussions were focused on Sustainable Environmental Management and ICT on achieving SDG’s by Dir. Dionisio C. Ledres (Regional Director, National Economic Development Authority), Artificial Intelligence and Robotics by Mr. Art Polo Gabriel (Chief Technology Officer, Megatech FX), Automation by Mr. Charles Angelo D. Duran (Field Application Executive, Hytec Power Corp.), Technopreneurship and Sustainable Development by Mr. Charles Irvin P. Tagarino (Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist, DTI Region 2), Green Building Technology by Engr.Manny Anthony Martin Taguba, (CEO, Intense Engineering Review Center), and Cyber Security by Mr. Francis Al Victoriano, (Chief Technology Officer, Application Developer, and Information Security Analyst).

The concurrent sessions for the Engineering program provided an avenue for the discussion of STAAD Software by Engr. Jove Revocal,DPA (Engineer II, DPWH Region 2) and EPA.NET by Engr. Evangeline R. Mellano (General Manager, Calapan Waterworks Corporation Tabuk Waters). On the other hand, the Information Technology group focused on Machine Learning Application by Dr. Jake Maggay, (Professor, CSU-Lasam Campus) and Hybrid Programming by Mr. Robert Soriano (Programmer III, DOST-MIRDC).

Competition on Programming, Infomercial, Infographics, and the first ever Mobile Legends tournament were held. The recognition of winners and expression of gratitude capped the three-day conference.
