In celebration of 2019 National Children’s Month, SPUP-Community Development Center Foundation Incorporated (CDCFI) working with Childfund Philippines conducted the Paulinian Volunteers for Community Development (PVCD) Handog Pag-ibig Project in Brgy. Marag, Luna, Apayao on November 23-24, 2019.

Pursuing inclusive development, comprehensive education, cultural empowerment, and the holistic development of indigenous communities and the children; the facilitated activities were Talentadong and Laro ng Lahi which portrayed the lives and culture of the Isnag and Filipino traditional upbringing.

Furthermore, Dr. Mary Jane B. Garcia (Social Welfare Officer 3, Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Officer 2) conducted a family development session themed: “Kastuy kami idi ngem kastuy kami ittattan. Arakupen iti panagbaliw para iti masakbayan.” (Heto kami noon, ganito na kami ngayon. Yayakapin ang pagbabago para sa kinabukasan.)

Meanwhile, Ate Kathy (an Isnag mother) shared her success story about how SPUP-CDCFI helps in the transformation of their lives: “Naamwan mi ti agbuteng ti Diyos. Ammu min iti makitimpuyog ti taon (We learned to fear the Lord and to socialize with people).”

The activity concluded with the acknowledgment of the participants who attended the activities and the learning processing of the PVCD volunteers.
