Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales (Director, International Relations and AIMS Point Person), together with representatives from selected Philippine Higher Education Institutions attended the 13th AIMS Annual Review Meeting of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) on November 11-13, 2019 and the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Conference and Research Presentation on November 13-15, 2019 at the Hotel Nikko, Bangkok, Thailand.

Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, Deputy Executive Director and International Affairs Staff of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Republic of the Philippines, headed the Philippine delegation composed of International Relations Officers and representatives from Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), De la Salle University (DLSU), Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Central Luzon State University (CLSU), Central Mindanao University (CMU), Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU), St. Louis University – Baguio (SLU), St. Paul University Philippines – Tuguegarao (SPUP), University of Mindanao (UM), University of St. La Salle – Bacolod (USLS), University of Santo Tomas (UST), and University of the Philippines (UP) together with Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) as observer.

The said activity is also a commemoration of the 60th anniversary of SEAMEO’s Regional Center for Higher Education and Development (RIHED) and the 10th Anniversary of the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS).

The 13th Annual Review Meeting was highlighted by the signing ceremony and acceptance of Singapore as a new AIMS member country, student speech contest, launching of the new AIMS logo as well as SEA-HiEd student forum on employability and mobility.

On the other hand, the UMAP Conference featured talks on Education 6.0 and Education in the Fourth Industrial Revolution where speeches focused on how best can international universities cope with the demands of the changing world and educational landscape.
