SPUP’s School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) sent a delegation of participants to the UP-System Information Technology Foundation’s (UPSITF) 17th Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4IT). Held at the UPFI Film Center and Ang Bahay ng Alumni, University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD), Quezon City on September 25 to 27, 2019, the three-day convergence fostered avenues for discussions and networking opportunities; presented of latest IT innovations; and, explored possibilities in a competitive in digital market.

The congress featured advocacy talks and sessions from Mr. Angelo Guitierrez (Convener, Better Broadband Alliance), Mr. Cleo Martinez (Compliance and Monitoring Division, National Privacy Commission), Mrs. Mary Grace Mirandilla-Santos (Lead Convener, Better Broadband Alliance), Dr. Jaymar Soriano (Chair, Department of Computer Science, UPD), Ms. Gen Macallano (Information Technology Officer, Cybersecurity Bureau, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Ms. Fe Nuñez (Head, Digital Marketing, Workbank Inc.), Ms. Sophia Lucero (Co-founder and President, Philippine Web Designers Organization), Ms. Marge Mislang (Representative, Indra) and Ms. Maria Paulina Savillo (Marketing Supervisor, Jobstreet).
