The Paulinian, the official collegiate publication of St. Paul University Philippines, garnered awards during the OSSEI National Training Workshop on Campus Journalism held at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City on September 26-28.

TP earned the following: 1ST Place, Best Published Editorial “Filipino Tanggal o Tanggol” by Jestyn Martinez; 1st Place, Best Published Development/Community Report “Paying it Forward: Kalinga Project and Project Kalinga” by Irishe Gold Suyu and Mardilyn Garcia; 2nd Place, Best Published Sports Article “A Triumph in the Making: Volleying Passion and Blocking Adversities” by Wilfredo DJ Martin IV and 3rd Place, Best Publication Design for the 2016-2017 issue themed “Treading Margins.”

The said training impelled all attendees to write according to the true objective of journalism—”To help shape public opinion by providing relevant information” as expounded by UP Diliman Professor Danilo Arao.

Among the participants were Krisarah Enriquez, Editor-in-Chief; Mardilyn Garcia, Associate Editor-in-Chief; Jestyn Martinez, Managing Editor, and Francis Elijah Malabad, Literary Editor together with Ms. Alama Quinagoran, Director of the Office of Student Affairs.
