SPUP hosted Fr. Andreas Bergmann, SJ, an international visiting professor from Sweden from February 01-21, 2018. Although he was born in Germany, Fr. Bergmann, whose expertise is on aesthetics, ecclesiastical art and history, spirituality and language, is engaged in a pastoral responsibility in Stockholm, Sweden. In SPUP, he taught and delivered lectures and presentations to the Graduate School and at the undergraduate level. He also assisted in the liturgical celebrations of the academic community.
At the Graduate School, Fr. Bergmann graced the convocation of Pauline Ethics classes on February 03, 2018, where he lectured on "Retracing Shared Heritage: From Chartres to SPUP." He also gave a seminar on "Pedagogy in Art Education" to the MAPEH students on February 09, 2018 and to the HRM-TM students, "Spirituality of Heritage Tourism: Focusing on Church Arts," on February 15, 2018.
He also conducted German Language (Basic and Survival) courses to the ABLL students on February 12-14, 2018 and to the Graduate School students (currently enrolled in Foreign Language class) on February 10-11, 2018. He also had team teaching on Socio-Linguistics in the PhD in Rhetoric and Linguistics class on February 17-18, 2018.
Fr. Bergman had also a chance of visiting the heritage Churches of Cagayan and Isabela and met the Archbishop of Tuguegarao, Msgr. Sergio Utleg, DD in a courtesy call on February 5, 2018.
