More than 200 registrants from the Grade School and Junior High School signified their intention of joining the encampment after having been invested as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines last January 19-20, 2018 at the BEU Gym.

The afternoon was filled with excitement as everyone pitched their tents at the GS grounds and actively participated in the Amazing Race, facilitated by selected Grade 6 pupils, through the leadership of Mr. John Kit Masigan, the GS Students Activity Chairperson.

Meanwhile, teachers/staff were assigned per troop to oversee the activities of the students under them while assisting the campers prepare and cook their meals and snacks through the supervision of Mrs. Alelia Pineda and Dr. Janette Fermin.

Mr. John Kit Masigan and Mr. Brendan Tangan, hosted the Talent Night show where all troops showcased their singing and dancing prowess. One of the highlights of the evening program was the lecture shared by Mr. Tangan on how to influence others to become better citizens of the country, which was also ended by the praying of the rosary.

The second day of the encampment was filled with series of activities led by Mr. Mark Lee Babaran, also a finalist of the TOSP and faculty member of SHS, as he shared his unwavering experiences of becoming a youth leader in his adopted IP communities.
