After a highly stringent two-tier screening process, Team Pablo of St. Paul University Philippines was qualified as a national finalist in the Ideas Positive Run 8 organized by the Unilab Foundation.
The team, composed of Nikko Jake Acain (BSPALM4), Ian Catherine Arsenio (BSPSY4), Kamille Salvana (BSPSY4), Irish Gold Suyu (BSN3) and Naomi dela Rosa (BSPSY3) and mentored by Ms. Karylle Mae Formoso (BSPSY Alumna), proposed and presented their Project Kalinga before a panel of evaluators during the Live Screenings of the said competition held last December 12, 2017.
Project Kalinga aims to raise mental health awareness in public elementary and secondary schools in Tuguegarao City through advocacy campaign and the creation of mental health awareness modules, alongside a series of mental health missions, which will funded with a seed money up to PHP 100,000.
Ideas Positive, a youth engagement program of Unilab Foundation, invites youth groups and organizations in the Philippines to submit their innovative ideas on how to solve health issues in communities.
The live screening was held at Hotel Roma - Business Center with Dr. Zsa Zsa Mae Meneses (NGO representative), Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay (NYC representative),Ms. Roanne Duran and Dr. Christian Gomez (Unilab Foundation representatives).
