SPUP’s Health Services Unit (HSU) spearheaded the conduct of Employees’ Health Seminar on November 08, 2017. Held at the Mo. Madeleine Hall, the HSU Staff discussed Health Issues relevant to the community and in the workplace such as Hepatitis A and B, Pulmonary Tuberculosis, HIV, DIY Braces, and Halitosis. Participated in by faculty members, staff, maintenance and personnel, the seminar aimed to create awareness as the speakers emphasized the debilitating consequences of these health concerns to the body and their effects in relation to work and to the community.
The University Nurses, Mrs. Bernadette D. Quiambao, RN, talked about Pulmonary Tuberculosis:Transmission and Effects in the workplace; Mr. John Paul G. Talosig, RN, on the Prevention and Risks of Human Immune Deficiency; and, Ms. Zylla Ezra B. Tenedero, RN, on Hepatitis A and B: Their Differences and Vaccination. On the other hand, the University Dentists, Dr. Grace D. Tamayao and Dr. Angelica S. Asuncion lectured on the Effects of DIY Braces and Halitosis respectively.
The seminar was held in collaboration with the Human Resource Management Office.
