The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – SPUP Chapter brought home a number of awards from the NFJPIA-R02 Regional Midyear Convention held at the University of La Salette, Santiago City, Isabela on September 29-October 1, 2017. The Paulinian Accountancy students demonstrated academic excellence, socio-cultural talents, and sports skills by prevailing in various competitions: CHAMPION – Auditing Case Study (Janina Marie Garcia, Jerryvic Penetrante,Elgiva Umayam and Karen Mae Valdez); CHAMPION – Impromptu Speaking (Eden Rose Austria); CHAMPION – Slam Poetry Writing (Kristine Carla Santos); CHAMPION – Your Face Sounds Familiar (Shaira Collado); 1st Runner-Up – Extemporaneous Speaking (Karen Mae Balisi); 1st Runner-Up – Badminton (Cristine Joy Marie Bañares); 2nd Runner-Up – Debate (Gun Woo Beak, Harley Bernieson Cortes and Alicia Ashley Viggayan); 2nd Runner-Up – Creative Photography (Ronnel Lao To); 2nd Runner Up – Mural Painting (Jackie Christina Caldez, Manilyn Miraflor, Jinmary Christiana Pua and Angelica Reyes); 3rd Victor – Region 2 Cyber Accounting Genius (Janina Marie Garcia); and, 20th Victor Region 2 Cyber Accounting Genius (Harley Bernieson Cortes).
The Regional Midyear Convention was spearheaded by the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants, sponsored by the Sycip, Gorres, and Velayo & Co. and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants – Santiago City and was graced by 14 participating universities and colleges and over 500 delegates from all over the Region.
