The Department of Education (DepEd) – Region 2 has partnered with SPUP in building the capacity of Senior High School (SHS) Teachers through the conduct of the Senior High School Mass Training of Teachers relevant to the Implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Program. The training was conducted in cycles from May 2017 to July 2017. SPUP Faculty Members together with DepEd Trainers served as facilitators in the said program.
The SHS Regional Training of Trainers (RTOT) for the Common Topics and Technical and Vocational Livelihood (TVL) was held on May 17 – 21, 2017; while, the RTOT for the Academic Track was conducted on May 22-26, 2017. These were endeavored to familiarize trainers on the training design and session guides and to provide concrete understanding of the Terms of Reference of trainers in the conduct of RTOT.
The Mass Training for Teachers (MTOT) on the Common Topics for Academic and TVL Tracks was participated in by over 1000 SHS Teachers on May 22-25, 2017. They were provided with concrete understanding of the Common Topics in the Academic and TVL tracks. On the other hand, about 600 newly hired SHS teachers in the different subject groups of Academic Track participated in the MTOT on May 26, 2017 to May 31, 2017, June 25-29, 2017 and July 15-20, 2017. The training was intended to equip the participants with the knowledge, skills and competencies in the different academic subjects and in the delivery of the different lessons in the SHS.
Moreover, SPUP also hosted the Mass Training of Grade 10 Teachers in Araling Panlipunan. About 450 teachers participated in the program on May 29 – June 3, 2017.
