The Department of Education (DepEd) - Region 2 tapped 15 teachers from SPUP as trainers on Applied Subjects to attend the National Training of Trainers (NTOT) Luzon Cluster on May 15-19, 2017 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC). This is in preparation for the Senior High School Training of Teachers for the K to 12 Basic Education Program.
The following trainers were Ms. Fredelina Carpio, Mr. John Kit Masigan, Ms. Marites Tenedor, Ms. Evelyn Pacquing for English for Academic and Professional Purposes; Ms. Alma Quinagoran, Ms. Prosperina Cabalza and Dr. Wilma Laguitao for Filipino sa Piling Larang; Ms. Jessievic Pico, Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay, Dr. Billy Siddayao, and Dr. Ma. Leodevina Batugal for Practical Research 1; and Dr. Jesus Pizarro, Dr. Emloyn Iringan, Dr. Pilar Acorda, and Mr. Rufo Tuddao for Practical Research 2.
Moreover, four Paulinian teachers namely, Mr. John Kit Masigan, Dr. Wilma Laguitao, Dr. Allan Peejay Lappay and Mr. Rufo Tuddao simulated the training sessions in their respective subjects and have equally obtained outstanding remarks from among process observers and participants coming from Regions 1-5, NCR and CAR.
The NTOT aimed to build the capacity of trainers to conduct a Mass Training of Teachers; to familiarize trainers with the training design and session guides, and to simulate the conduct of the different sessions.
These trainers shall join the rest of the training team for the Regional Mass Training of Teachers which will be held at St. Paul University Philippines starting on May 26, 2017.
