Caritas Christi urget nos!
May 8, 2017 - St. Paul University Phiippines (SPUP), amid the milestone of reaching a decade over a century, celebrated Academic Day, which includes Paulinian Information Quiz Bee, Essay Writing, Slam Poetry (Solo and Duo), and Paulinian Feud at the Global Center, treading on the University’s historical, cultural, and spiritual foundations.
With the theme “SPUP@110: Educating the Young, Serving the Poor, and Celebrating God’s Love,” the Academic Day bred a friendly and independent competitions among the academic departments, namely Basic Education Unit (BEU), School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), School of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management (SBAHM), School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS), and School of Teacher Education (STED).
Having invited 10 participants from each department, the Paulinian Information Quiz Bee was dominated by the School of Arts and Sciences, having garnered 1st and 3rd places represented by Joshua Accad (BSPALM 4) and Jul Mar Esteban, (BSPALM 3). Meanwhile, BEU representative, Tristan Tolentino ranked second.
Paulyana Battung, representative of BEU bagged first place in the Slam Poetry (Solo) while Ian Jasper Pagulayan (BSA 3) and Samantha Kate Bacani (BSA 3) representatives of SBAHM won first place in the Duo category. Lastly, the first-ever Paulinian Feud was ruled by SBAHM.
The said event was spearheaded by the Office of Student Affairs in collaboration with The Paulinian Student Government Council.
