Caritas Christi urget nos!
Around 70 student-leaders participated in the Leadership and Values Formation Training held on February 25, 2017 at the SPUP Boardroom. The activity aimed to empower SPUP’s student-leaders towards holistic service. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) spearheaded and served as the resource speaker of the activity where she emphasized the essence of humility and compassion in leadership. “Our hearts must be empty of motives and pride to achieve genuine leadership,” she said.
Highlighting the advantages of the 21st century in terms of media, beliefs, and others, the University President acknowledged the challenges that leaders may confront in responding to the needs of the University and the society in general. Accordingly, proactive measures on how to become improved servant leaders are needed to respond to the challenges of the times. She said that Paulinian leaders must be grounded on the principles and disciplines of the Paulinian core values: Charity, Community, Commission and Charism which are all anchored on Christ-centeredness.
“Christ-centeredness must be the foundation of all values to lead successfully by following the examples of Jesus Christ and St. Paul the Apostle,” she added.
