Caritas Christi urget nos!
Three of SPUP’s Student-Leaders were recognized as among the 2016 Outstanding Paulinian Students of the Philippines (SOP). Mark Anthony Baliuag (BSA), Mark Lee Babaran (BSE) and Brendan Jansen Tangan (BSPALM) led the TOP 5 Awardees with Alcher Arpilleda from SPU-Surigao and Christian Geo Molina, SPU-Manila. Held at St. Paul University Iloilo on February 10, 2017, the search was endeavored as a celebration of the anniversary of the St. Paul University System (SPUS).
Chosen from among the 15 finalists from the member-schools of the System namely: St. Paul University Philippines (SPUP), St. Paul University Dumaguete (SPUD), St. Paul University Manila (SPUM), St. Paul University Surigao (SPUS), St. Paul University Quezon City (SPUQC), St. Paul University Iloilo (SPUI) and St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur (SPCIS), this year marked the seventh SOP, an annual search for exemplar Paulinian students – personifying Paulinian excellence, leadership and service.
Together with the awardees, finalists from SPUP included: Angelo Dee (BSBA) and Ruth Zea Marie Tongdo (BSA). Prior to the awarding, these outstanding students underwent formation program, capacity building and panel interview. Present in the recognition rites were Sister Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) and Ms. Alma Quinagoran (Director, Student Affairs).
