Caritas Christi urget nos!

With the on-going SPUP community development program for the Indigenous People in Agugaddan, Peñablanca, Cagayan, support from international organizations, Alumni and school-based academic groups has gained momentum.

On February 01, 2017, Ms. Neriza Dumayas (Alumna HS ‘74) from the American Cancer Society turned over packages of slippers as her contribution to the project; while, the UNESCO Clubs of the Philippines delivered school supplies for the Aetas Community Learning Center. Moreover, the Child Fund Philippines Foundation discussed the possibility of forging partnership with SPUP for IP Family-Based Disaster Response project. Last January 2017, the Little Light United, a non-profit organization based in California through Mr. Sherwin Matammu (Alumnus BSN ‘94), extended their services to the community by supporting the Health Education program of SNAHS.

With the inauguration of the Aetas Community Learning Center this January 2017, the School of Teacher Education (STEd) has continuously engaged the Agta children in Functional Literacy program. On the other hand, the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS) has regularly conducted Health Education program to the community. While in 2016, the Community Extension Services (CES) and the School of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management (SBAHM) has initiated a Micro-Financing program in the community.
