Caritas Christi urget nos!
The Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul was solemnly celebrated with a Thanksgiving Mass presided by Archbishop Sergio Utleg, DD with the Clergy of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao as concelebrants at the Our Lady of Chartres Chapel. In his homily, Msgr. Utleg highlighted “transformation” and “mission” as facets of conversion. Accordingly, these features need to be rooted with a life in Jesus – of believing, of hoping and of loving Christ. The celebration also commemorated the 290 years of SPC Missions where Msgr. Utleg likened the SPC Sisters with St. Paul. “The missionary fervor of St. Paul, the Apostle, inspired the SPC Sisters to establish a community in Cayenne, France – where they taught the children, tended the sick, and helped the people uplift their life,” he said.
The Holy Mass was followed by the blessing of the newly refurbished University Gate and Façade. The SPUP Community was joined by the Friends of St. Paul and SPUP Alumni in the celebration. This year's feast day served as SPUP’s thanksgiving for the many blessings God has bestowed upon the academic community while praying for the grace to persevere in its educational mission.
