SPUP’s Community Extension Center (CES) has embarked on continuing initiatives for community empowerment programs with the Agta Ethnic Group residing in Agugaddan, Peñablanca, Cagayan. On January 09, 2017, Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC (University President) and Ms. Noemi Cabaddu (Director, CES) inaugurated the Aetas Community Learning Center for the Agta children. The center will serve as a hub of the service learning program on Functional Literacy of the School of Teacher Education (STEd). SPUP has equipped the learning center with fixtures, furniture and learning materials (visual aids and books) to enhance the learning environment of the children in the community. Moreover, the recipients were provided of school supplies to boost their interest in learning. SPUP's student-teachers will serve as learning facilitators of the said program. Back in 2016, SPUP has initiated a Micro-Financing program for the Agta parents through the School of Business, Accountancy and Hospitality Management (SBAHM).
