The School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (SNAHS) honored the graduating batch of Nursing students in a Send-Off Ceremony on January 7, 2017 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Training Center. As the Nursing Class adopted St. Therese of the Child Jesus as the patron of the batch, their send-off ceremony was marked by a celebration of love. Impelled by Christ's love and inspired by the deep love of St. Therese to Christ, this year's batch are called to mission as protectors and preservers of life by serving humanity with utmost care and compassion.
The event was made meaningful by the presence of Hon. Marian Grace Gascon, Chairman of the Board of Nursing as Guest Speaker. Her inspiring message expounded the theme: "Venturing Into Professional Nursing: A Lifework of Pauline Values and Caring”. Hon. Gascon chalellenged the graduating class as she presented the array of challenges besetting the nursing profession in the Philippines and the roles of nurses to hurdle such challenges. She also emphasized that nurses need to be resilient in all settings of their tour of duty. Further, she reminded all to imbibe knowledge, skills and values as they journey to the professional life. Sr. Merceditas Ang, SPC, (University President), Dr. Elizabeth C. Baua, (Dean, SNAHS) School and Dr. Anunciacion T. Talosig, (Associate Dean for Nursing) presented and awarded the certificate of recognitiom to the Guest Speaker.
